EDUC 312 Educational Policy, Law & Advocacy 3.0 Credits
This course introduces students to the complexities of the law and policy that shape public schooling in the U.S. Emphasis is placed on how education law and policy impact and are impacted by teachers’ evolving roles, relationships, and practices. Additionally, the course provides students with foundational information and tools they will need in order to advocate, as teachers, for students and for themselves.

This course ties education to the larger economic, political and cultural processes of globalization and development. It is specifically designed to introduce students to the origins, development and central discourses of the field of globalization; to different globalization theories; to help students explore some of the current controversies and debates that characterize the field; and to reflect on how comparative and globalization studies can inform teaching, research and activist practices in the US and around the world.
