MUSC 1201 Music Fundamentals 3.0 Credits
This introductory course builds essential skills and knowledge in Western music, with an emphasis on fundamental music theory and aural recognition. Open to all students, it complements and strengthens musical abilities, providing a solid foundation for further study. Topics include reading musical notation, understanding keys and scales, recognizing musical intervals, constructing basic chords, and related aural skills.
