MUSC 2111 Piano Class II 1.0 Credit

This course is a continuation of Piano Class I. By the end of the semester, students will be able to perform simple songs, play several scales and chord progressions, and demonstrate basic note reading skills.

Most credits are earned through participation in ensembles, which may be repeated for credit. Additionally, students complete 2–4 credits from practice/making courses and 3 credits in history/culture. Performance teaches valuable skills such as collaboration, cross-cultural communication, team building, and the understanding that individual abilities contribute to a greater whole. Other required courses promote critical thinking and cultural understanding. These skills complement any student’s major and career aspirations.
