MUSC 2121 Guitar Class II 1.0 Credit

This course is a continuation of Guitar Class I. Students further develop note reading in first position, enhance rhythmic skills and reading abilities in various keys, learn movable barre chords and power chords, and acquire basic finger picking techniques.

Most credits are earned through participation in ensembles, which may be repeated for credit. Additionally, students complete 2–4 credits from practice/making courses and 3 credits in history/culture. Performance teaches valuable skills such as collaboration, cross-cultural communication, team building, and the understanding that individual abilities contribute to a greater whole. Other required courses promote critical thinking and cultural understanding. These skills complement any student’s major and career aspirations.
