This course introduces fundamental principles of probability and inferential statistics used to make data-driven decisions in business. Students learn how to describe and summarize data, understand the role of probability in modeling uncertainty, and apply statistical methods to draw conclusions from samples. Topics include descriptive statistics, probability theory, discrete and continuous probability distributions, sampling distributions, estimation and one and two sample hypothesis testing. Emphasis is placed on interpreting results and understanding their implications in business contexts. Through applied examples and spreadsheet-based exercises, students gain a solid foundation in statistical reasoning that prepares them for practical decision-making across business disciplines and more advanced courses.
